What kind of photographer are you?
I am a lifestyle family, newborn and couple’s photographer. This means that I work in that sweet spot between posed photos and completely documentary style (with no direction given). My work showcases connectiveness, tenderness, joyfulness and love in families.
Where will my session be held?
When you schedule a session, you can choose from any of my pre-scouted location environments; Beach, Prairie or Woodland. Or if you have another location you’d like to use, I would love to explore that option with you and see if it will work. Couples can choose an Urban environment or any of the family options.
How long will my session be?
One great thing about lifestyle sessions are they are short and sweet! We will typically spend 45 minutes to an hour together on the evening of your shoot. I always shoot during golden hour which is 1-2 hours before sunset. Due to this, it’s vitally important to arrive to your session on time so we don’t miss the sun-drenched gorgeousness.
What will my session be like?
It’s going to be great! You can expect to have a really fun, relaxing and connective time with your family. I will be photographing both the candid moments and helping guide your family for the best imagery. Due to the nature of the art I create, I do not guarantee the traditional “look and smile” photograph. Your imagery will be emotional, connective and a beautiful representation of your family. I will never ask you or your children to look at the camera and smile. If your child smiles during our time together, it’s because they were genuinely happy. I love to capture not just the way someone looks at a specific time, but how it feels to be together; to be family.
Where will my newborn session be held?
For newborn photography, I work solely in the comfort of your home. We can spend time in your nursery, living room and/or bedroom. I use natural (window) light for my work so it’s important to choose locations with windows.
What should I wear?
The best is to coordinate, not match. If you’re struggling to pick outfits for your family, start with Mom! You should wear whatever makes you happy and feel your best. How far out are you booked?
Generally, I am booked about four weeks in advance. Please email me to check availability.
Will I get the digital photos from my session?
Yes! All of my sessions come with a full ordering gallery of images from your session. Each package includes different products and each of them have some digital images. If you’d like more digital images or prints, you can simply order those from your gallery.
How can I order prints and products from you?
Approximately two weeks after your session, I will email you the link for your full ordering gallery. From there you will be able to view all the image and order prints, products and digital images online. Prints will typically arrive 10 business days after your order and digital files will be downloadable immediately.
